If my mom has a good potatoe salad recipe do you think she could start selling it at the grocery store?

Consumers are fickle.

besides that making food for commercial sales requires inspections from the health department and registering for a business license,

there are some requirement about labeling and packaging.

Your mom might better start with your local church.

She might start with the local mini marts and gas stations on commission

Good luck

no, to sell food you have to have a commercial kitchen and health inspectors and a vendors license etc......plus, most grocery stores do not sell on commission........If my mom has a good potatoe salad recipe do you think she could start selling it at the grocery store?
First off is the recipe her own, or did she get it out of a book? If it's not her own personal recipe, she can't use it to make money.

Then if it is hers, she needs to get all the right permits and such before she can sell food. Then she needs to have a deal with a store that will sell it.

It's not something she can do every once in a while, she'd had to do that full time, and I doubt she wants to make potatoe salad several days a week.
