5 lbs. all purpose potatoes

l large onion - peeled and diced

2 cups (or more) Hellmann's Mayonnaise

l/4 cup vinegar

l/4 cup oil

l/2 tsp. dry mustard

3 or 4 hard boiled eggs chopped

2 stalks celery - diced

2 Tbls. parsley - chopped

salt and pepper

paprika

Optional: l/2 cup sweet pickle relish

Boil potatoes in their skins until soft and you can pierce them with a fork.

While potatoes are boiling - dice

up the onion, celery, chop the parsely and hard-boil the eggs.

Note: For boiled eggs, put the eggs in a pan with cold water and bring to a boil. As soon as they boil, shut off the heat, cover and let stand 18 minutes and they are done. Immediately run them under cold water and the skins will slip right off!

When potatoes are done, cool them awhile and then peel them. Put them into a pot and pour over the vinegar and oil and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper.

Add the chopped parsley, diced celery, diced onion, relish, dry mustard, chopped hard-boiled eggs and the Mayonnaise.

Mix thoroughly. If too dry add more Mayo.

Arrange nicely in a pan and garnish with parsley and sprinkle with paprika.I need a potato salad recipe, it has to have hard boiled eggs, mustard and mayo, celery.... any suggestions?

I use all the ingredients you used plus some diced pimentos, onions, bell pepper and fried bacon bits. I have always preferred my potatoes diced small and my girls love it when it is still warm, they won't eat it when it is real cold.
Potatoe salad with out finely diced sweet gerkings is not complete.

Most of the recipes are using the same ingredients here. Where is the sweet pickle? food is too bland in the U S. Use onions with the tops, cut the tops off and dice them up

small. Save them. cut the onions up and toss them in. A little salt, a little pepper, Dont forget the sweet pickles. Dill weed, celery, eggs mayo

and mustard. Make sure the taters are good and done. When eveything is cooled and in one big bowl, take from refrigertor, sprinkle paprika or chili power, very lightly for color, add the greens from the onion. Make sure you saved some of the hard boiled egges, to cut in half and place on top of the tater salad. Now we have some color, Little paprika, or chili power on top, looks great, tastes great,

where's the pickle?? m m m m m momma
This is one that was handed down from my great grandma

5 lbs potatoes peeled, diced small and boiled

3 cups miracle whip

1/2 cup mustard

2 small onions diced small

3 celery stalks small diced

1 small green pepper small diced

6 boiled eggs diced

1 cup sugar

1 cup sweet pickle relish

Make sure potatoes are cold before you mix
boil peeled potatos( the smaller your cut them the faster they cook.) throw in some chopped onions and your eggs in with the potatos .. saves time and less cleanup later . drain potatos add mayo sweet or dill pickles according to taste. a little vinegar , prepared mustard= yellow mustard. ..chopped eggs and there you have it
4 medium baked potatoes, chilled, peeled and cubed

1 T. lemon juice

2 hard boiled eggs, chilled, peeled and chopped

3/4 c. mayonnaise

1/4 c. yellow mustard

1/4 t. dried dillweed

1 1/2 t. salt

1/2 c. chopped celery

1/3 c. chopped onion (I use purple onion for color)

3 T. milk

1/4 t. pepper

2 t. dried parsley (optional)

Mix all together. Lightly sprinkle paprika over top. Cover and chill several hours before serving. For additional color and flavor, core and chop 1/2 of each green, red and yellow bell pepper. Not everyone likes bell pepper, so sometimes I include, most times I don't.

Potato Salad is one of those very versatile dishes that you can add to, take away from and create a dish that suits your tastes.
ohhh this is a good one boil your potatoes and eggs take miricle whip and real mayo more real then miracle add dill weed and a little milk and brown mustard cut up celery and onion mix it all together make sure you put in lots of dill weed its the best ive ever had
THERE YA GO Just chuck in some potatoes and you've got your recipe sorted. Clever aren't you?
Add all of those ingredients together and then slice some drained pickles and then add some semi-softened bell peppers if you want. And then chop about half an onion and toss it into the bowl. Add salt and pepper and if you want paprika. When mixing them do it gently and fold because you don't want everything to break up into mush.
As a matter of fact, that is exactly what I am making rite now while my brisket is smoking on the grill!!

Here is my recipe:

You will need:

6 medium potatoes

1 cup thinly sliced celery

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/3 cup sweet relish

1 1/4 cup mayo

2 tsp sugar

2 tsp celery seed

2 tsp apple cider vinegar

2 tsp prepared mustard

1 1/2 tsp salt

2 hard cooked eggs, chopped

In a covered saucepan cook potatoes in boiling salted water for 25 to 30 minutes or till tender, then drain well. Peel and cube potatoes.

Place potatoes in a large bowl and add celery, onion, and sweet pickle relish. In another bowl combine mayo, sugar, celery seed, vinegar, and salt and mix together.

Add the mayo mixture to the potatoes and toss lightly. Carefully add the chopped eggs. Cover and chill thoroughly.
You pretty much have the recipe listed in your question. My recipe is dice potatoes, boil them, cool them (and cool the hard boiled eggs), chop eggs, add to potaoes, add chopped celery, chopped onion (1/2 of one, you don't want to much), 1/2 a chpooed green bell pepper, a cup or more, depending on your taste, of mayo and a couple of tablespoons of mustard, again depending on how much or little you like. Chill for a couple of hours and Voila, potato salad.
