is it possible to use regular milk instead of buttermilk?? will it taste differant??Salad dressing recipes??
I love buttermilk ranch! Making it with regular milk just wouldn't be the same!
Low Fat Buttermilk Ranch...
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
2 tablespoons nonfat sour cream
1 tablespoon finely chopped green onion
2 teaspoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
2 garlic clove, finely minced
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1. In a blender or food processor blend all ingredients until smooth.
2. Cover and refrigerate. Keeps for 1 week.
Makes about 1 cup.
If all you have is milk, you can make your own buttermilk...
4 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar, or fresh lemon juice
1 cup milk
Place the vinegar in a glass-measuring cup, and add enough milk to make 1 cup total liquid. Stir to combine and let stand for 10 to 15 minutes (The mixture will begin to curdle).
Use as needed in a recipe, or cover and refrigerate until needed.Salad dressing recipes??
**********RANCH SALAD DRESSING
1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. buttermilk/regular milk
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. Accent
1/8 tsp. pepper
Mix together and serve. Note: tastes like Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing. Dry onion flakes may be added if desired. I prefer the dressing without onions.
